1. Claim your Google Business Profile
This is non-negotiable. The map pack at the top of Google results is where buyers decide. Your profile needs complete business details, real photos (not stock), your exact opening hours, and the services you offer. Keep the category specific — "Web design agency" will beat a generic "Marketing agency" listing every time.
2. Write for your city, not for the internet
Pages titled "Best web design in Kashmir" rank lower than pages titled "Web design in Srinagar for hotels and tour operators". Specific beats generic. Mention real neighbourhoods, real landmarks, real client types.
3. Get reviews the honest way
Ten genuine 5-star reviews from named local clients outperform fifty vague reviews. After every successful project, ask the client directly — most will happily leave a review within 48 hours if you send them the link.
4. Build citation consistency
Your business name, address, and phone number need to be identical everywhere — Just Dial, Sulekha, Facebook, Apple Maps. Inconsistent listings confuse Google and tank your ranking.
5. Content that answers real questions
Write about things your customers actually search: "How much does a wedding website cost in Kashmir?", "Do I need a GST number for a Shopify store?", "What's the best ecommerce platform for Kashmiri handicrafts?" Every one of these is a page that will rank and convert.
